Panasonic TX-L37S10B Review: 37 Inch Full HD LCD Television by Alex Bradbury

The Features
The Panasonic TX-L37S10B offers 37 inches of viewing screen. This TV has a wide viewing angle with IPS Alpha Panel. It comes with a contrast ratio of 20,000:1. Other features to watch out for include the intelligent scene controller, V-Audio Surround, screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, smart networking using VIERA Link, the VIERA image viewer, allowing you to browse JPEG and AVCHD, digital tuner, an aspect ratio of 16:9 and 1 pc input so you can immediately link it to your laptop or personal computer to browse images and documents.
What to Expect
Compared to other LCD TVs of the same screen size, the Viera TX-L37S10B is not overloaded with super features and aesthetics. The design, however, is a lot better compared to other creations of Panasonic during the previous year. This TV has a glossy black finish, although a silvery tone is also available.
The connectivity capabilities are also a plus for most users. The TV comes with 3 HDMI sockets, 2 Scarts, a single component port and d-sub PC input. This is not a Freesat models, so you will not find a satellite feed attachment. There’s no SD card slot as well. You can’t expect to get movie playback functions compared to higher Panasonic models. JPEG photos are handled very well.
About Image
Most people have a number of complaints about image and motion blur while watching. The Panasonic TX-L37S10B might have raggedness in the camera pans, particularly if you’re watching from a Blu-ray using 1080p/24. This is expected from an entry-level television. When playing games, you might notice some problems with the black levels. You might find odd shades of grey in some areas of the screen while playing high resolution games. If you use other presets, like the dynamic, the black level response and greyness can get worse. The good thing about the TV is that image quality and black levels are not compromised much even if you’re viewing from a rather odd angle.
About Audio
The audio is decent, although some individuals might like more loudness and clarity, depending on what they’re watching. The bass and trebles are adequate but might need more tweaking. The Panasonic TX-L37S10B in terms of audio is average, as what you’d expect in entry level TV sets.
Overall Assessment
Most viewers rate the Panasonic Viera TX-L37S10B 6 or 7 out of 10 only. The resolution and wide viewing angle are its biggest strengths. But the lack of features, average design and lacking qualities of the image and audio may not make it such a smart buying choice, considering it has a price tag of £400 to £600, depending on your location. The connectivity capabilities are also decent, especially the 3 HDMI sockets. You should try and test it with different media devices to gauge how well it responds to games, movies and items off your personal computer. In the 37-inch class, this LCD TV still requires a lot of improvement. Make sure you adjust the presets based on your purpose.
